Please provide any general questions or comments you may have concerning the implementation of a computer-generated, standards-based report card using our student information system (SMS).
I love the look of this report card and the grading rubrics. For the reading in first grade I think you need to add a phonemic awareness/phonics component to grade on, especially for the first two quarters. Also, I think the fluency rates are lower for first grade. The math portion does not align so I am assuming that we are keeping our math report cards. The writing looks good. Great work. If you need any help email me.

thanks
Sandy
Looks interesting. I am concerned about the math portion. Will this replace the piece that was recently created for fourth grade?

I do like the look of the reading and writing portions. However, not all of the specialist areas that we currently report on are included, as well as a health grade. Does that mean that we may not be relaying those class performance levels?
We are truly in need of a document that reports on our students skills more accurately and specifically than we have. Use of computers will make the process more efficient and less painful.

Traditionalist or not, my other concern for going with a rubric approach to report cards is that we still look for GPA's and class rank for college applications. That doesn't seem to be changing. So.... when in the process of k-12 do they move towards those reporting methods which colleges still require? Just food for thought!

We certainly need a change in our reporting system and the document itself. Kudos for getting the process started!
