Grade Level Expectations (GLEs) are the concepts and skills that students should know and be able to do by the end each grade level.  The Rhode Island Department of Education has developed a common set of expectations and test specifications in Mathematics, Reading, and Writing.  These expectations were developed in response to the requirements of the federaally mandated No Child Left Behind Act.
