3)  Q Can I get my personal laptop added to the school department's network?
A
4)  Q What type of software should we purchase in our schools and our classrooms?
A

We should make sure that we purchase software that supports our school district's strategic plan to improve literacy and numeracy in a standards based environment.

It is imperative that we utilize our limited resources in the most efficient manner as possible. If you are interested in participating in an online discussion regarding appropriate classroom software please click on this link.

5)  Q How do I change my network login password?
A
You can change your login password if you have a WindowsXP and/or a Windows 2000 machine. Both operating systems have the ability for the user to change their password as desired.

To change your password do the following:

  • Press CTR+ALT+DEL keys at the same time.
  • Click the "Change Password" button.
  • When prompted enter your "old" password.
  • Enter a new password. You will have to do this twice to confirm spelling etc...

Please note passwords should be at least (6) characters in length and they cannot use a password that has been previously used in the pass (6) months.

Some of the accounts may have been created with a restriction that does not allow for the user to change their password. This was done during initial setup to allow technicians to login with their accounts for setup purposes. I've spot checked a number of accounts at each building and have not come across any, however i f this happens they will need to contact the Helpdesk(IT).
