PASS Meeting Minutes – Thursday, Mar. 17, 2005
Literacy:
Mrs. Wilson had not heard anything at this time regarding progress of having a book fair.
College Night:
Everything is all set for College Night to be held Tuesday, 3/29 in the Media Center.
Post Prom:
Peanut Butter drive: We were able to deliver the 200 jars required for the $100- to be donated from Washington Trust Bank thanks to the extra special efforts of Monique Condon, Sheila McCarthy & the Parent Association of Greenbush Elementary School.
Amica Insurance Save the Night Poster Contest: Although we did not know at the last meeting, we have since been informed that our Junior Class students poster presentation came in 2nd place in the State of RI. We have been awarded a $750- prize! Great job by all students who participated!
“Tea Party” Fundraiser: We will have a special meeting on Wed., 3/23 to put together the “tea party invitations”. Kelly Rossi will try to get the stationary and paper goods needed donated. (She was successful). Sheila McCarthy will try to get the labels (she was also successful). The donations are to be returned by April 15th to Lester Petrarca at the high school.
School Committee: We have been placed on the April 12th agenda to address the School Committee regarding the possibility of their donating the busses (2) for our trip to Six Flags after the Post Prom (Sun., May 15th). We will have students, parents & Mrs. Wilson attend.
Car Wash: We will be having a car wash on Sat., 4/30 9AM-12PM (5/1 Rain Date) at “On the Roch’s”. Tickets can be pre-sold and will be distributed in Jr. Homerooms after spring vacation. Sincere thanks to Jerome Roch for allowing us to use his facility! We need to bring our own hoses, supplies and make sure we leave the parking lot clean when we leave.
Lamp Sale: Jennye Durante will coordinate lamp sale. We have permission from Mrs. Beverly Hopkins to sell lamps at the April 12th concert. They will also be available on line at www.westwarwickpublicschools.com, and fliers will be distributed to the Jr. Class.
Next Meeting: Wednesday, April 27, at 6:30PM
This meeting will be held on Wednesday, as many Junior Class participants are attending the SAT Prep class, which is held on Monday & Thursday evenings. |
