A proficiency portfolio must contain the following:

CREATING COMPONENT: 4-6 pieces of artwork either in two-dimensional form such as drawings, paintings, digital images, mixed media, photography, video/film; or three-dimensional artwork such as sculpture, ceramics, models, jewelry, mosaic, carvings

RESPONDING COMPONENT: One (1) written responses to art (see choices below)

ARTIST'S STATEMENT: An "artist's statement" describing the artwork included in your graduation portfolio (see Artist's Statement Guidelines)
CREATING
Students must include a minimum of 4 and a maximum of 6 artworks that collectively show proficiency in ALL of the following areas. NOTE: some works of art many meet proficiency in more than one area:

Artwork that demonstrates the your ability to communicate ideas through art

Artwork that shows effective use of one or more elements of art: color, shape, line, form, texture, or value

Artwork that shows skillful use of media and techniques

Artwork that utilizes concepts or content from other subject areas

Artwork that demonstrates creative problem-solving.
RESPONDING
One (1) documented response selected from one the following:

A response to exemplar work in which the you identify, describe, analyze, and evaluate a work of art

A documented response to a discussion or debate about art

An investigation into the artistic contributions of a chosen culture or time period
Artist's Statement

A personal artist's statement about your artwork
