Hi Folks:
I'll be working on the disciplinary referral process in Aspen
(it's called a workflow) over the next couple of days. I started on it earlier
this week and ran into many issues that have interrupted my progress. I'm
hopeful that I'll have the process working to accomplish the following:
1.
Teachers will initiate
a disciplinary referral from their homepage in Aspen.
2.
The administrator and
classified/certified staff responsible for disciplinary action will receive the
referral.
3.
The administrator and
classified/certified staff responsible for disciplinary action will administer
and record the outcome of the referral, and any disciplinary actions.
Next steps to improve the process.
I'm working on the data fields that we will be collected for
disciplinary referrals, and the form that teachers will fill-out online in the
system. I'm not 100% sure but I believe we will most likely need to use the same
form for the entire district. As I get into the form building process I'm sure
I'll be able to answer some of these questions.
Working on a workflow that will allow administrators to
include parents in the outcome of the disciplinary action that is taken. This is
a larger policy issue that needs to be discussed more widely before we move
forward with any possible workflow.
I know many of you are dying to implement this in your
schools with your faculty and were doing all we can to meet your needs. I
appreciate your patience.
