| | Homework has a definite place in the educational process. It is an extension of the learning experience children have during the instructional day. Homework is designed to aid the students in achieving classroom and school goals. Supporting good work habits requires a joint effort. We will support each child and encourage good work habits at school. Each child will benefit greatly from support and encouragement at home. There are homework assignments that should be completed every night. These include the "sound check", double ten frames flashcards, and reading. A weekly reading record can be found in your child's MONKEY book. Other assignments will be sent home as well, so be sure to check the orange homework folder each night. To keep your child in the "swing" of things going on in the classroom, please make sure that all of the homework is completed and placed right back in their MONKEY book. Please remind your child to bring their MONKEY book and the contents (spelling cards, double ten frame flashcards, reading material, etc.) to school everyday. This is really important for a successful school day and for teaching your child how to be responsible. Also, please empty notices and corrected work on a nightly basis. |
