 Welcome to Mrs. Weller's and Ms. Riberio's 3rd Grade Class! We are located on the second floor in Room 212. Our year continues to be exciting in third grade. In science we are still exploring water, in math we have been working on Number Sense (decomposition, equivalent names, addition to 2,000 and place value. Additionally, we have been using Number Grid Activities to find differences and frames and arrows. We will work on Telling Time to 5 minute intervals; 60 minutes in an hour, 24 hours in a day, 7 days in a week, and 365 days in a year. Also, we are comparing numbers to 2,000 using equality and inequality symbols. In social studies we are going to study the three branches of goverenment and the Northeast. They will continue to use Words Their Way for spelling, personal writer's notebook, and have writer's workshop. The use of technology will be used in the classroom on a daily basis. Students will have a great deal of opportunity to enhance their learning through the use of many technology tools in our classroom. Don't forget about the Harvest Dance scheduled for Thursday, November 10. Your children have been practicing their square dancing! Parent/Teacher conferences are scheduled for , 2010.
